Apeksha is voluntary organization working in Maharashtra for the betterment of lives of children, women, Farmers and tribal communities. Apeksha was established in 1980 as a grassroots NGO in Amravati district of Maharashtra and grown from a small team of dedicated social activists to a large group of professionals with multi-dimensional skills. It has now spread its glorious network in Maharashtra. 

The focus of interventions of Apeksha is to develop most vulnerable and marginalized people of society to help them recognize, secure their fundamental rights, and work for their own development. We are working with the marginalized communities especially with the children & women on issues of livelihood, basic entitlements, health, education, watershed development, sustainable agriculture, rural development and governance. Apeksha is striving to strengthen people’s organizations to ensure participatory community development models in villages for economic and social development. The organization is committed to the ideal sustainability and believes in organizing the poor to ensure their
participation and democratic leadership within the communities.

We work mainly with the children to ensure their basic rights as per the UNCRC. The other issues covered by our intervention include rural sanitation, right to education, empowering women through SHGs, general and reproductive health, microfinance activities, livelihood restoration programmes through skills and entrepreneurship development, providing support to distress farmers and farm widows. The organization is committed to the ideal sustainability and believes in organizing the poor to ensure their participation and democratic leadership within the communities.
